Located in the Rolling Hills of West Ilsley, Berkshire

Rowles is owned by the Carlisle family, who have run the farm for three generations. As a family, we always look to the future, and as such the decision to diversify and plant vines was taken in order to secure the business for the generations to come.

What our customers say

Hear from wine lovers who've experienced our vineyard

We’re been proud to be stocking the Rowles Bacchus since its launch – a beautifully crisp, locally crafted still white wine from West Ilsley, Berkshire that’s been an instant hit with our customers. It’s the perfect companion to a sunny afternoon in the garden or alongside lighter dishes from our menu. We love supporting local producers, and this wine truly showcases the quality and character of English winemaking. If you’re looking to try something refreshing and a little different, this is well worth a glass (or bottle!)

Rowles is a very impressive, fast‑growing local vineyard just ten minutes from us. The team looked after us brilliantly, with a relaxed tour, tasting and delicious lunch. Their Bacchus flew off our wine list and we can’t wait to pour more of their wines. We’re excited for the new Bacchus, rosé and sparkling arriving later this summer. It’s brilliant having a vineyard like this on our doorstep.

Blewbury

Walking through the vines, hearing the family's story, and tasting the wines was a reminder of why we love what we do. The three wines were all incredibly impressive, but the standout was undoubtedly their Bacchus — vibrant, expressive, and packed with fresh aromatic character. As a Berkshire-based company ourselves, it's always particularly special to discover incredible producers right on our doorstep.
