A Fabulous Trade day with The George at Upton and The Crown at Chilton

“We joined the Rowles Vineyard team in Ilsley for a trade day and a guided tour of their very impressive, fast‑growing local operation, just ten minutes from us. The Rowles family looked after us brilliantly, with a relaxed vineyard walk, wine tasting, delicious lunch and properly warm hospitality.

We’d already poured their very tasty Bacchus on our wine list and it promptly sold out, so it was great to taste the new vintages, hear what’s coming next and place our next order. We’ve been promised more Bacchus soon, plus a delicious rosé and a sparkling release later this summer.

It’s brilliant having a vineyard like this on our doorstep and we’re really looking forward to stocking Rowles wines at both The George at Upton and The Crown at Chilton as soon as the next delivery arrives. Spending the day with other local publicans and restaurateurs was the icing on the cake – a reminder that perhaps Monday is the new Friday when it comes to getting out on our rest days.”
